Privacy Policy

DRAFT — this is placeholder legal text that has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Questions? Email mitja.martini@gmail.com.

Who is responsible

UpCheck is operated by Mitja Martini. For any privacy request, contact mitja.martini@gmail.com.

TODO (owner): add postal address / full controller details if required.

What we store

  • Account data: your email address and a hashed password (or your social login identity, if you use one).
  • Monitor configuration: the names, URLs, and check intervals you set up.
  • Check results: status and response times of your monitors, kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically.
  • Operational logs: short-lived technical logs used to run and debug the service.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Polar.sh, acting as merchant of record. Polar collects and processes your billing and payment details under its own privacy policy. UpCheck never sees or stores your card details; we only receive your subscription status.

Cookies

UpCheck uses only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF cookie to protect forms. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.

TODO (owner): if web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) is enabled in production, disclose it here.

Where data lives

The service runs on PAASBOX (managed Kubernetes on Hetzner infrastructure in the European Union).

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time — monitors and their data are deleted with your account. For a data export, deletion request, or any other privacy question, email mitja.martini@gmail.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the rights granted by the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
